Betting on Myself

ree

The great Kobe Bryant once quoted, "If you're going to bet on someone, bet on yourself." I don't know about you, but I hate losing, but I also hate missing out(even when I often allow myself to miss out). I want to win, and I want to see my full potential when I put all my effort and my energy into winning.

I am in a place right now where I am scared to put my chips in. I'm scared to bet fully on myself. Have you ever felt like this? Like, how do I even do that? How do I allow myself to step out and completely and totally put everything on the table and just go for it? These are questions I ask myself and I can never come up with a great answer. Now, if you know me, you know I love God and Jesus and I believe in the power of prayer and trust in God. So, essentially trusting in God means I should be comfortable just putting my chips on the table and rolling those dice for lucky draw. The obvious answer is "Yep, you're right!" Yet my answer is not so clear.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path."(Proverbs 3:5-6). I read this and tell myself, "Ashley, God is fully telling you to just throw your heart into Him, and He's got you!" I am the chips, and I just have to go all in and bet on myself, cause the table dealer is the Almighty God, and He has never failed or lost a game yet! So, in this season of my life, I'm betting on myself, I'm welcoming the space to win, and to learn when I lose. I am affirming my gifts and talents, and I am rooting for myself (loudly) when everyone else may be silent. I encourage you my friend, to join me and bet on yourself, you are worth the risk.
